How to create an Em dash in Microsoft Word

When you type a space and one or two hyphens between text, Microsoft Word automatically inserts an en dash ( – ). This is fine for most situations. However, what if you want to go one better and create an em dash. This is the longer, double dash you see in many technical documents. It is usually used to emphasise text or insert a statement inside a sentence.
